Keep Calm and Homeschool On With NGHE!

For in Him, you have been enriched in every way--with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge. 1 Corinthians 1:5

It's In Our DNA

STEM, humanities, physical education, and languages have equal and central contributions to make to a student's education.

Who:  We are a homeschool program looking to bring creative and thoughtful learning opportunities for your K-12 student.  Starting it's 11th year this past Fall, we serve families of Forsyth and outlying areas bringing teachers, each one with a strong foundation in their faith, that are passionate about their skill sets and continue to work in their respective fields.

What:  We, as an "enrichment" program, believe that the crux of educational responsibility belongs to the parents - first and foremost.  But we understand that parents sometimes need a little help.  Thats where we come in.  We offer a number of classes to satisfy every interest; from robotics to ukuleles, from science to creative writing, and so much more!

Where & When:  North Georgia Homeschool Enrichment [NGHE] meets Mondays at North Lanier Baptist Church, Cumming - just off Highway 9.

Why:  Because we know that homeschooling can be hard, especially in the first few years.  We understand this and want to walk alongside homeschooling families to share that burden and to help create and inspire your child's desire to learn.

As a new homeschooler, I know that you might have a million questions, and we would love to answer them as best as we can.  Please feel free to give us a call at the number listed below.  Sometimes it's just easier on the phone, because one question can lead to many more questions, and we can answer them right away for you.

Raquel Torres

Spanish
Raquel Torres is the Spanish Level I Instructor at NGHE. This is her first year with NGHE. Profesora Raquel is originally from the Mississippi Gulf Coast where she attended elementary and high school. She fell in love with the Spanish language at an early age and has worked to learn it ever since. She is a 1994 graduate of Washington University in Saint Louis where she earned a double major in Spanish and Psychology. She spent the first half of her career working on trading floors at various international banks in New York City. In 2006, she and her family moved to Atlanta where she joined the Global Marketing team at The Coca-Cola Company until she left to be a full time mom in 2013. Raquel is married to Andres Torres, the electronics/robotics instructor at NGHE, and they have two teenaged sons, Matthew (16), a sophomore at Forsyth Central High School and soon to be homeschooler and Daniel (14), an eighth grader who is homechooled through Freedom Project Academy and one beloved Chihuahua named Rico. Raquel loves being a part of the body of Christ through her Calvary Chapel Alpharetta family and NGHE, spending time with her family and travelling especially to visit family in her beloved, adopted homeland of Puerto Rico.
