Ebert, Linda - Math 7/Pre-Algebra | Yearbook

Linda is a mother of four. She and her husband, Mike, have lived in Cumming for 12 years. She graduated from Miami University (Oxford, OH) in 1988 with a BS in Business Administration and a Minor in Management Information Systems. Linda has worked for Campus Crusade for Christ and Focus on the Family, among others and now runs her own company, Ebert Communications, which provides communication and marketing support to small businesses and individuals. She also leads an accountability group and co-authored, Freedom From Fear, a 6 week Evangelistic Bible Study. She loves math, but even more, loves being with the students!

 

Edwards, Debra

Debra Edwards received her Bachelor of Arts from the State University of NewYork and earned 30 graduate credits at Hunter College (New York) in the fieldof education.  She has taught inpublic and private schools.   She was formally trained in Calligraphy at the CraftStudents League in New York City and taught at the Putnam Arts Council inMahopac, New York.   Debra  teaches calligraphy  to  home schoolers and adults in her home studio,  and in the Forsyth County Parks andRecreation program.  Her home basedbusiness, The Write Touch, sellsprofessionally printed invitations and offers calligraphy services.  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it  

 

Betty Ewing |  Study Hall & Lunch Supervisor

I have a bachelor's in home economics and a masters in religious education.  I have homeschooled my kids from first grade up and Rachel is just going into 9th.   I have taught Sunday School since I was 22 years old, teaching various grades of students.   Ms. Betty will look forward to helping any student during their study hall time!

Knight, Ruth Ann

Ruth Ann Knight graduated from Covenant College with a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science/Mathematics and a minor in secondary education. She taught middle and high school math and science at Asheville Christian Academy in Asheville, NC for 8 years following graduation. She has also taught high school mathematics at Whitefield Academy in Mableton, GA and at International Community School in Bangkok, Thailand. She has held certification in GA, NC and with ASCI. Ruth Ann is married to Jeffrey Knight and they have three young children. Jeffrey teaches history to middle and high school students at Covenant Christian Academy in Cumming, GA. Ruth Ann enjoys working with students to help them find success in the study of math and science.

Plotner, Marjorie

Marjorie is a mother of 2 boys.  She and her husband Tim have lived in Cumming for 3 years.  She graduated from Nyack College (a Christian college in Nyack, NY) in 1990 with a degree in Elementary Education.  She taught kindergarten for 3 years before having children.  After staying home for 10 years to focus on her children, she began teaching preschool when her youngest went to first grade.  In addition to teaching at NGHE on Mondays she teaches a Tuesday / Thursday 3 year old class at Weekday Preschool at First Baptist Church.  She loves working with children.  


Smith, Peggy

Peggy graduated from NorthGeorgia College with a Bachelor of Social Work, and the University of Georgiawith a Masters degree in Education. She worked at Bridgeway Christian Academy (ACSI and SACS accredited) teachingKindergarten for 10 years.  She wasaccredited by ACSI as a Guidance Counselor Specialist, has completed various Bibleand curriculum courses, and Southern Baptist Children’s and Preschool TeachingDiplomas.  Prior to teaching, sheworked as a Counselor for the Georgia Department of Rehabilitation Services,Cooperative School Program.  She ismarried to Joe Smith and they have one son who lives in Colorado.  Peggy has a special place in her heartfor kindergarteners who are like sponges ready to soak up all the knowledge andlove you can spill in their direction.

 

Pellegrino, Maren

My name is Maren Pellegrino and I teach Interior Design as well as Science this semester.  I have taught Art, Art History, Sewing, and Home Economics.  I have a degree in Housing and Interior Design Management and I minored in Art at Virginia Tech (go Hokies).  I am very excited to be teaching Interior Design this year, as I have been working in this field for 16 years.  I design and make custom window treatments out of my home.  I am married to a wonderfuly supportive man named Jeff.  I also have a son, Jacob who is in 5th grade and a daughter, Julia who is in 2nd grade.  God has blessed me by giving me an opportunity to share His Love through teaching something that I love.

Elizabeth Turner

Elizabeth Turner is thrilled to be teaching Spanish to grades 3-8. She completed a 4-year advanced placement Spanish curriculum at Wheeler High School in Marietta, GA.  She gruated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor emphasis in Spanish.  As part of her degree, she attended Colegio Domingo de Soto in Segovia, Spain.

She worked for Friendship Force International, aninternational cultural exchange organization headquartered in Atlanta, GA.  She served as exchange liaison tocoordinators in Colombia and Mexico, among other countries.   Her professional career includesworking for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company & American Express Company.    She has enjoyed travel toMexico many times, as well as to Argentina and Spain.
Elizabeth is a native born Atlantan.  She and husband David and their 13 year-olddaughter, Margaret Anne, have lived in Cumming for four years. 

 

Veillon, Nikki - 

Nikki Veillon is an accomplished dancer, karate athlete, instructor, businesswoman and mother of 3.  She gradcuated from Orange Coast College in California with a theatre and dance major. She is a native of California but a long-time resident of Georgia.  She is a decorated performer and has had the opportunity to dance with accredited companies including Joffrey Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet and Ballet Pacifica.   Karate became her passion 6 years ago.  Along with teaching the arts, she has taught Sunday School, directed Vacation Bible School and has been inolved in Children's Ministries.  Her desire is to use her God-given talents to share and develop others.  This is her 6th year teaching at NGHE. 

 

Lisa White 

Lisa White has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Math Education from Auburn University and a Master’s degree in Chemistry Education from Georgia State University. She taught Chemistry and Physical Science at Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County for 8 1/2 years at which point she “retired” to become a stay-at-home mom. Since “retiring” from teaching in the public schools, Ms. White has been a private tutor to high school chemistry and math students and a teacher with several homeschool groups as well as a consultant for Georgia Public Broadcasting and the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice. Lisa loves working with students and helping them to grow in their desire to learn and to discover that they too can be successful in math and science. Lisa also enjoys parenting three children with her husband, Brent, and serving as a pastor's wife at Alpharetta First United Methodist Church.

Wiley, Ron – High School Math

Ron graduated from Ga. Tech with a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering, and Ga. State with a Masters of Decision Sciences (Statistics). After 27 years with The Coca-Cola Company, he retired in 2000, having held technical, operations, and marketing positions. He holds a number of design patents for soft drink equipment.  He has substituted for Horizon Christian Academy and this is his fifth year at North Ga. Home School. Ron has two adult children and six grandchildren. Ron loves high school students and considers Monday the best day of the week.

Hammond, Jeneen

Jeneen Hammond, MPPAC Founder / Artistic Director. Native of New Orleans, Louisiana and alumni of the remarkable New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), Jeneen began her theatrical career at the age of 15 and has graced the stage in Lead and Supporting roles for Regional and Community Theaters such as, Le Petit, San Diego Rep, Moonlight Amphitheatre and the Holly Theater.  Her performance credits include:  "Ragtime, 1940's Radio Hour, Working, Little Shop of Horrors, Children of Eden, Big River..." and many more.   In 2006, Jeneen and her family relocated from California to Atlanta, Georgia.  Over the years, Jeneen has earned recognition as an Actress, Singer, Director, Writer and Producer of faith-based productions.  Jeneen is not only known for her exceptional gifts, but mostly for her compassion and contagious ability to encourage and draw out the potential and gifts in others.
