Teyi Aponte is the new Cooking Instructor at NGHE this fall. Born in Venezuela in 1977, her journey towards food began at a very early age, while watching her grandmother prepare delicious traditional Venezuelan meals.
And so she grew up surrounded of spices and fresh vegetables and great family cooking.
Teyi assisted Onondaga Community College, in upstate New York, were she studied Photography until 2001. After going back to Venezuela her curiosity and continuos need for learning new things took her to enroll into a program to become and International Bakery Chef at the European Bread Institute of Caracas. There she learned the complexities of the Bakery business in conjunction with the great variety and flavors of the European bread bakery. She also dedicated most of her time working at her family business a preschool for kids between 1 and 6 years old. Teyi is a very ingenious and creative person , who loves working with children and she looks forward to inspiring
her students to learn and love cooking as much as she does. Teyi has been married for 19
years to Adolfo Schael, an independent consultant. They both used to live at Miami and recently move to Cumming. Together Teyi and Adolfo have a fifth-grade son named Ian and a first grade son called Luca, whom attends Mashburn Elementary. Teyi is an entrepreneur by nature and she is building her own Venezuelan Bakery and Food Business here in Cumming called Pasapalos Atlanta Venezuelan Food Services. We welcome Mrs. Aponte to the NGHE family and to the amazing culinary arts teaching team
